If you're sick of dealing with ants in your home and yard, there are plenty of natural solutions that work. Just be careful not to use any pesticides, however. Here are some easy, environmentally safe ways to keep ants out of your house and yard.
1. White vinegar
The strong odor of vinegar interferes with the scent trails that ants use for navigation, making it an effective natural ant repellant.

In a spray bottle, combine white vinegar and water in proportions of one to two.
Anywhere you've observed ants, such as along baseboards, windowsills, and entrance points, should be sprayed with the mixture.
2. Food-Grade Diatomaceous Earth 🌿
The powdered form of diatomaceous earth is derived from long-extinct algae. It kills ants and other insects by destroying their exoskeletons and causing them to dehydrate; it has no effect on people or pets.
Use food-grade diatomaceous earth to cover ant trails, seal off entry points, and protect your home's foundation.
If it rains or if you clean up afterward, reapply.
Thirdly, cinnamon.
Because ants hate the strong aroma of cinnamon, it may be used as a natural pesticide. Ground cinnamon or essential cinnamon oil will do.
Application: Dust ground cinnamon about entrances, windowsills, and any other potential access places for ants
Another option is to spray your home with a mixture of cinnamon essential oil and water.
4. Ground coffee beans ☕️
The strong scent and acidity of coffee grinds make them unappealing to ants. This is a great, non-toxic method for keeping ants out of your home and yard.
Instructions: To use, scatter spent coffee grounds around plants in your garden, near access points, or along ant trails.
In addition to their many other uses, coffee grinds are an excellent natural fertilizer for garden soil.
Juice from one lemon 🍋
Because of its acidity, which hinders the ants' capacity to follow smell trails, lemon juice functions as a natural insecticide.
Use fresh lemon juice to brush around baseboards, windowsills, and gaps where ants are entering, and squeeze it around access sites.
Keep the lemon peels close to the wounds for further protection.
6. Oil with Peppermint 🌿
The pungent aroma of peppermint oil deters ants and other insects. Additionally, it works wonders in keeping pesky insects like mosquitoes and spiders at bay.
